Puppy Board & Trains

2 Week Program

$2,380

The two week puppy program has a heavy emphasis on creating positive experiences during the very important socialization period that has an impact on the rest of your puppy’s life. In addition to frequent public outings in the safety of a stroller, your puppy will be exposed to various house experiences, neighborhood noises, and city sights. This program also focuses on basic obedience, crate training, and creating a potty schedule for your puppy.

4 Week Program

$3,380

Building on the two week program, your puppy will continue to experience frequent outings, typically will be sleeping through the night by the end of their stay, and will be on a good potty training schedule. Your puppy will also build on their basic skills including sit, down, stay, place, drop it, leave it, recalls, and loose leash walking foundations.

6 Week Program

$4,380

Our six week course encompasses everything your puppy has learned in the four week program, while adding on more distracting environments to practice their cues. Your puppy will continue to develop their social skills, going on various outings to family member’s houses, continuing store visits, and attending safe play sessions with known dogs. Your puppy will also begin to have more freedom within the home as their potty skills become more refined. Leash skills will have advanced from very short sessions to the leash becoming very familiar with your puppy.

8 Week Program

$5,380

The eight week program really helps solidify your puppy’s core skills including leave it, stay, and recalls that will be proofed through distance, varying durations, and plenty of new distractions. Your puppy will begin to generalize their skills as they are able to practice them in more environments. Your puppy’s development will allow them to hold their bladder much longer by the time they go home, and they will be well onto their way of forming outdoor potty preferences.

10 Week Program

$6,380

Ideal for those who live in busy city environments, apartments, or condos where your puppy will be sharing potty areas with other dogs, as your puppy will be fully vaccinated against parvo and distemper when they go home after this program. Your puppy will have a very short window where they will now be able to work on the ground in public to practice their leash skills, ability to focus in new environments, and continue to build their social skills.

12 Week Program

$7,380

If your puppy has a future in therapy, facility, or service dog work, this program creates a great foundation for you to build off when your puppy goes home. Your puppy will have 2-3 weeks of on the ground outings where they can work on skills in public around a variety of people, animals, and distractions. If you want your puppy to have some work in public before going home, this program is highly recommended.

Q&A

What is your training style?

I utilize positive reinforcement training. This means your puppy is rewarded for good behaviors and redirected or ignored when performing undesirable behaviors.

Where will my puppy stay while in your program?

Your puppy will live in my house like they are part of the family. They will get to participate in normal family activities and be exposed to all sorts of normal household noises.

Will my puppy be fully trained?

No matter the length of the program, it’s important to remember puppies are constantly undergoing changes as they age and go through different developmental phases. Your puppy will require constant training throughout puppyhood and adolescence. Puppy board and trains build a solid foundation for you to continue on your puppy’s journey. The training journey is a fun one, and as you continue to train your puppy, you will build an unbreakable bond together! We are happy to work through the difficult early days of puppyhood, but it’s so important you take the time to continue working with your pup after they go home! Part of your puppy’s training package includes continued support after your puppy goes home and plenty of customized resources to help you and your puppy grow together.

Which length of training should I choose?

This is entirely based on personal preference and your lifestyle. If you live in a city location where your puppy will be in contact with public spaces, I recommend they are in training until fully vaccinated (8 weeks of training allows for full vaccination, while 10 weeks of training gives the final vaccine time to become active. 12 weeks of training allows me to begin working with your puppy in public spaces). Usually at four weeks of training your puppy will be sleeping through the night, which I would consider the most popular training package. I am always happy to discuss which package will best suit your family.

Does this include house training?

Yes, your puppy’s package includes house training. We work on a schedule based potty training program where your puppy, who does not yet have full bladder control, is given plenty of opportunities to succeed by letting them out to potty at regular intervals. While we introduce bell training and can tell you some clear signs your puppy needs to go potty, the biggest success to potty training is having a schedule, managing your puppy’s space, and heavily rewarding when they potty outdoors. Your puppy will go home with their current potty schedule, information on any clear indicators they give that they need to potty, and plenty of resources to continue the success of your puppy’s potty training. The longer the program your puppy is in, the longer you will be able to wait between potty breaks with your puppy.

Do you raise therapy or service dogs?

While I have a passion for therapy and service dog training, my current program only includes up to the first 12 weeks of your puppy’s training journey. I am happy to tailor your puppy’s program to their future jobs and can start training your puppy on tasks such as pulling on ropes (which can later translate to opening and closing doors, drawers, etc.), retrieving, pressure therapy and more. However, I am well aware that it takes a very special dog to adequately perform service work and can never promise your dog will go on to succeed. Service dogs are typically trained until 18+ months old and I will only be providing a very small section of their overall training journey. With that being said, I am very happy to kickstart this process with reasonable goals in mind.
